Will Smith is one of Hollywood’s biggest stars these days, and has been for a while now. His recent DC movie Suicide Squad received extremely poor critical reviews, however, was a big box office smash. But he seems to take it in stride , understanding that sometimes having the best cast and directors doesn’t always lead to critically acclaimed films (even if your movie broke box office records).
But something does baffle Smith, and he’s perplexed that his well received film Concussion didn’t spark a more national discussion about the subject of the film. Says Smith, “I thought Concussion would have a bigger impact. I knew it would be hard because people love the game, but the science is so overwhelming, and it’s something that we really need to take a look at…I thought that people would get behind the mission of that. I was surprised that people were absolutely like, “Nope, I’m not stopping watching football, so I don’t want to know.”
Perhaps more films about the topic of football head injuries and the NFL will make people become more enlightened on the issue. Check out these cool photos of Will Smith from over the years.
